Come for a cuppa, stay for the honey.

Hello all! Continuing on from where we left on last week, work on the cafe/shop system is progressingly along nicely. As you can see, the interior of the shop is more or less done, now comes the slightly more tricky part where I’ll have to figure out what’s the best way to arrange the HUD around the shop whilst not talking away attention from our fiesty shop owner. The only thing that I feel I might still want to touch up is shading on the wall but for now I think I’m pretty happy with what I’ve got here.


If you’ve been checking the last few updates you’ll notice that the second level, Beehive Battleship, is getting not only a visual make up but a whole new layout and gimmicks to emphasise that it’s a hectic and fast level. As you can see from the above GIF, Brock will be put in an almost endless waterslide of honey if the player isn’t paying attention and I’m aiming for that to be a core aspect for this level to give the player that feeling of high speed exhilaration. The level’s new tileset will soon be revealed too so don’t fret if you’re getting tired of seeing blocky coloured platforms, you’ll see the new Beehive Battleship in it’s mechanically and gooey glory soon enough.
